How to choose a website plan without overpaying

Most people pick a website plan by looking at the price first and the limits second. It works better the other way round. Answer these four questions, then open the plans page and the right plan is usually obvious.
1. How many websites do you need this year?
Not “one day”, this year. A café with one location needs one site. An agency building sites for clients needs several. Every plan card lists how many websites it includes, so start there.
2. Do you already own a domain name?
If you own yourbusiness.com, you want a plan that lets you use your own domain. If you don’t
own one yet, that is fine: you can start on the studio’s free address and connect a domain later.
3. Will you sell anything on the site?
A menu, a portfolio or a list of services needs no checkout. Selling products, bookings or gift cards does. If selling is in your plans for the next few months, look for that on the card now, so you don’t have to switch in the middle of a busy season.
4. Monthly or yearly?
Monthly is the safe choice while you test the waters. Once you know the site works for you, compare the yearly price on the plans page: use the Monthly / Yearly switch above the cards.
